Do you all listen to the radio late at night? Well, I do.
I should tell you that I love Delilah.
Yes, the Delilah. I adore her. If you don't know who she is just google her.
When Mindy and I are on road trips, I can always find the easy listening station that is playing her show.
I love her musical choices. Any person that understands that "Lady in Red" is the appropriate song to play for any situation has my respect. I have definitely heard her play that song for Dads calling in to request songs for their daughters.
I love her advice. Oh you're in love with a married woman? Well get the fuck over it. Here I'll play "I Hope You Dance" to help mend your broken heart.
You just got married for the third time, but this guy is definitely the one? Listen to "Cat's in the Cradle" and hold each other.
Do you listen to Delilah? Have you heard any of her weird song choices?
Ahhh Delilah, Several years ago when I was a receptionist at a tattoo shop in KY, I would listen to her on my way home each night...mostly because 97.5 was the only station that came in clearly between Middlesboro and Tazewell. I can't think of a specific example for ya, but I wholeheartedly agree that her music selections are indeed awesome ;).
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that even in dead radio areas her show almost always comes in.
DeleteHoly shit snacks, I didn't even know she was still on the air! I remember listening to her in Jr High and thinking that she had the sexiest voice ever created, and that she was the epitome of romance. Someday, I would meet a man who would love me so much that he would call up Delilah and ask her to play a song for the most beautiful woman in the world. Now, however, I'm pretty sure that would creep me right the fuck out.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know that her music selection hasn't changed any since 1999!
I'm pretty positive that only creepers call in to her show.
DeleteI forgot about her? How old is she now? I mean she's been on since I was a kid!
ReplyDeleteShe is probably in her forties or fifties. Who knows...
DeleteWikipedia knows... Birthdate: Feb 15, 1960
DeleteSo, she's 52. Assuming Wiki is correct.
I love Delilah. I've been listening to her off-and-on for the last five years. She certainly does have some crazy song choices. Since I've listened to her, one of my favorite songs is Benny Mardones' "Into the Night."
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's all sweet and romantic-sounding. Listen to the lyrics. It's creepy.
Does anyone ever imagine what a DJ looks like? I never would've thought she was a blonde.
I definitely pictured her looking way different.
