I am the Reading Rainbow

I tried to find a decent picture of this tattoo on my facebook, but I pretty much failed.

Don't judge me.

This was the best one I could find. That's my dear friend Brent. I don't know why we decided to do this. Yes, alcohol probably was involved.

Focus.

The tattoo says

"That's the thing about girls. Every time they do something pretty, you fall half in love with them, and then you never know where the hell you are. Girls. Jesus Christ. They can drive you crazy. They really can."

It is a quote from the Catcher in the Rye. It was shortened to fit on my arm.

I get the most awkward reactions to this tattoo. Random people in the grocery store start reading it out loud. Their voices almost always trail off at the end, they look at me sheepishly, then quickly walk away.

  1. Hahaha nice. The reading aloud thing would drive me NUTS. But I hate it when people do that to my tshirts or coffee mugs or anything.

    1. The worst is when you have on a shirt with writing across the chest and some creepy, old man starts reading it aloud.

  2. I didn't judge, but I definitely giggled. Next time someone starts reading it aloud just elbow them and apologize, you have arm spams when you get nervous.

  4. I giggled at your picture, too. And you have a lot of pictures that involve hookahs. I kind of want to be your friend in real life. I like the tattoo, but very annoying that people start reading it out loud. Rude.

  5. i love 'did it hurt?' stupidest tattoo/piercing question ever. followed in a close second by 'what does it mean?'

    like everything i have tattooed on my body has to have some deep, philosophical meaning. why can't i just like mermaids?

  6. I love that tattoo because, let's face it, tattoos are like a magic wand that make you instantly cool. Kind of like smoking. Even cooler? Holden Motherfucking Caulfield.
